Hello! Time for a travel update! Anders & I spent all of last night and a good portion of today figuring out our next moves as we have 16 more days in country. There is so much to see and do that it is very difficult to decide! With the rest of the day Anders and I rented some 9 ft.
longboards and enjoyed an hour of surf on
Kuta beach. It was a welcome reprieve from our recent days of shorter boards and chasing more difficult waves. I think we both averaged 1 ride per 2 minutes...
haha. With so much length underneath us we were able to sit out farther in the ocean and catch waves before the other surfers. What a confidence booster! At sunset, around 6 pm here, Anders and I and Laura our friend from Germany took the plunge. What does "took the plunge" mean you might ask? Well bungee jumping of course! We jumped from 45 meters over a pool in
Seminyak just north of
Kuta. It was amazing! We had a great time! A little different than skydiving... maybe more scary in some respects because your mind can actually fathom the height compared to jumping out of an airplane.Well what have we decided for our forthcoming travels you might ask? We've decided on a whirlwind trip through Sumatra & Java! We are excited to share stories from the road as they happen (if we can find
internet access).
Until then happy trails.
Love,
Scott & Anders

Chris heading back Kazakhstan to finish his service as a teacher in the Peace Corps. Rumor has it that Chris had a fantastic vacation! He thoroughly
enjoyed soaking up the sun, spending time with great friends, learning about Indonesian culture & riding the waves! He is due to arrive back in the United States sometime this fall.

Whoooooaaaa, Scott!
That was some fall!
What? 150 feet or so???? Oh my goodness!
Love the video, over and over!
You three are BRAVE souls!
The photo of Chris departing made me think about how hard it must be to leave. It really is loaded with emotion. . . . sweet tart. I add it as one of my favorites.
Thank you for another GREAT post!
May earth, air, wind, and fire continue to gift your journey.
Like another mother, I too watched the jump a few times. Scotty, you and I need to hit up a high dive sooner rather than later! Nice jump!
Do the other two of you have videos too?
Rock out!
Hey you guys!
So cool you did that jump, wish we were there with you. But we are in Sumatra right now, so any chance we could catch up with you again?
Take care, Stan and Hedwig
