Privet!I thought that I should check in from my end in Kazakhstan and share my own preparations. I've even got my list for the trip ready:
1) Clothes... check!
2) Bag to put clothes in... check!
3) Enough medications from my organization to start a small hospital... check!
4) Other stuff... no need!
The recently-home Americans are bringing the real cool tourist gear. I hear Anders got one of those party Winnebagos that can fold up into the palm of your hand. And Scott found an inflatable military tactical watercraft that we can use in case of a tsunami (wow, knock some virtual wood for that one). Benjy and Dani will be bringing the portable sound system/stage/instruments package that stuffs down into an 8 oz peanut butter jar. I'm responsible for a plastic bag, a paper clip, and some twine.
For me, the last week has been filled with last minute trips to my closet, small parties with my kittens to prepare to say the long goodbye, and super bad haircuts to prepare for the hot weather.
We've got 84 degrees F in Bali right now, sunny, and feeling like 91 F with the humidity. Forecast for the week looks much the same, with some clouds. For the next two weeks, we've got some pretty big variation in weather: sunny, mostly sunny, and barely-any-clouds-at all. Lows of 76, highs of 86, and 10-20% chance of precipitation. Wow.
We're ready - let's go! davai! auf gehts!
