While the waves here are small, the underwater camera, a snorkel and surf board are quite entertaining!

Under the Sea
As Chris alluded to in the last post, tomorrow morning bright and early we leave the Gili Islands and head east towards Flores on a small boat. Each area we visit has a completely different vibe. While we have had the challenges of no running water, power outages, salt water showers (when availabe), no atms, spiders the size of your hand, the sounds of the mosque's calls to prayer at all hrs of day and night, loud geckos and roosters at sunrise, nearly all of our time here on the Gilis has truly been pleasure and fun. These three little islands can very much be summed by the following underwater pictures. On our 4 day boat ride to Flores, we will be eating the fish caught each day off the side of our very own boat. We are excited for the culture Flores will have and the Indonesians we have yet to meet and learn from!

Greetings D, B, A, C, and S!!!!
The water appears so clear . . . and blue!
Or maybe aquamarine?
Blue-ti-ful.
Thank you for your recent posts: all the new photos and the great descriptions of your travels above and below the water surface!!!!
Good fishing to you . . . travel safe.
Love you LOTS!
Your underwater photos have me singing . . .
Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'
Under the sea

so i hope you do get to go to flores. well, you obviously will, but to the paleo sites.
this is anthropologically VERY IMPORTANT
floresensis were a breed of people that were tiny tiny tiny and more like homo erectus than like homo sapiens but they lived until THIRTEEN THOUSAND years ago...even more recent than NEANDERTHALS.
seriously. they are fascinating.
like hobbits.
and there is a ton of local mythology and little stories baout them.
drool for me, becuase i am officially jealous.
and officially a nerd.
Hello Happy Travelers - The Wrights are wishing you a Happy
4th of July! Love ya
