Aloha friends and loved ones! Time for another check in with the early excursion party of two, Anders and I have stopped half way to our final destination to train and hone our skills in the art of traveling. We are doing well and are staying with some family of Anders in Waiamanalo Hawaii. As you can see we've been busy trekking about the Island of Oahu and getting into just about everything we can think of while we darken our skin tone a bit each day in preparation for Bali, Indonesia. Some of these activities include:
- Waking up to see the sun rise on the beach a block from where we're staying
- Eating and visiting with our very generous Hosts
- Driving a white Kalaka (truck) around the island. (Once again graciously borrowed to us by our welcoming hosts)
- Snorkeling through underwater caves next to Sea Turtles
- Visiting ancient Hawaiian holy places and learning about the Hawaiian native culture and beliefs
- Hiking up through a jungle trail (straight out of Lost, for all you fans out there) to a beautiful pool of water at Manauwili falls. As you may have seen in the video above we didn't just marvel at its beauty.
- And of course... what would a trip to Hawaii be without navigating the crowded pandamonium with a 10' longboard at Waikiki beach near downtown Honolulu.
We look forward to some more snorkeling, palm leaf weaving, and perhaps an even taller free-fall than the one we've found at Manauwili falls. ;)
But more than anything we can't wait to meet up with our great friends and traveling buddies in Bali!
Look for more updates soon!
And yes, there were actually nice waves and lots of people... just further out!

GREAT video and photos, Anders and Scott!
Whoa!!!!
And so good to get the update.
Enjoy these last couple days in the USA!
Love you!
Bros, that looks sweet. We definitely have to find some cliff-jumping in Indo.
I wish I had something to compare to it in my six days before our trip, but I've got nothing. My Regional Manager and Country Director forgot that I'm going to Indo (we had some changes in admin, so it's not their fault), and we had to do all the trip paperwork crap (again) in one day - it was a mess. Everything is all taken care of now.
Last thought: green is good - I can't wait to see more of it framing your lovely faces.
Hell Yes. I am definately down with the cliff jumping (you know me!)
See you sooooo soon :-)
You have come a long way from your Lake Washington days!!
Be careful out there! We love You

Cliff Jumping!!! Danger Danger young Will Robinson (What 60's T. V. show) Did any other Minnesota reader's heart skip a beat when they saw Cliff Jumping-Keith
Dude, seriously your hook-up LENT you the truck! They didn't not BORROW it to you!
OK, I realize the irony of using a grammatical error in correcting your stupid Minnesota grammar.
